Article Review Process

Journal of Islamic Finance and Sustainability (JIFS) follows a structured double-anonymized peer review process to ensure academic rigor, impartiality, and the highest standards of scholarly publishing.

Review Process

  • Preliminary Screening: All submitted manuscripts are initially assessed by the editorial office to confirm alignment with the journal’s scope and compliance with submission guidelines.
  • Plagiarism Check: Each submission is screened using plagiarism detection tools to ensure originality and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Editor Assignment: Suitable manuscripts are assigned to an editor with relevant expertise for thorough evaluation.
  • Reviewer Selection: At least two independent experts are invited to review each manuscript based on their academic and research credentials.
  • Double-Anonymized Review: Authors and reviewers remain anonymous to one another, promoting unbiased and fair assessment.
  • Evaluation Criteria: Reviewers evaluate originality, methodology, clarity, significance, and contribution to the field, providing recommendations such as acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.
  • Editorial Decision: The handling editor reviews all feedback and makes a decision. Authors requested to revise must address reviewer comments within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Final Review: Revised manuscripts may be reassessed by the original reviewers or by the editor prior to confirming a final decision.
  • Acceptance & Publication: Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, proofreading, and final production before being published online.
