Journal of Islamic Finance and Sustainability (JIFS) enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism to protect the integrity, originality, and credibility of all published work.
Definition: Plagiarism encompasses the use of another individual’s ideas, text, data, or creative work without proper acknowledgment. This includes direct copying, close paraphrasing, duplicate submission, or inadequate citation of sources.
Screening: All manuscripts are rigorously checked using reliable plagiarism detection software prior to entering the peer review process. Submissions exhibiting significant similarity or unethical duplication may be returned for revision or rejected outright.
Author Responsibility: Authors are required to ensure that their submissions are original, properly reference prior work, and comply with accepted citation and ethical standards.
Editorial Measures: In cases where plagiarism is identified post-publication, JIFS will follow the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Consequences may include publication of corrections, retractions, or notification of the author’s affiliated institution.
